I recently had the pleasure of spending two days in this captivating city, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. How to Get Around in Rome

Rome is a city best explored on foot, as every corner reveals a fascinating piece of history. However, given the limited time, you’ll also want to make use of the efficient public transport system. The Rome Metro is a quick and convenient way to navigate between the main attractions. Purchase a 48-hour Roma Pass, which grants you unlimited access to public transport and free entry to your first two sites😀.

Where to Stay

For a two-day trip, it’s best to find accommodation close to the city center. I opted for a charming boutique hotel near the Spanish Steps, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The central location made it easy to walk to many landmarks, and the surrounding area offered a plethora of cafes and shops to explore.

While hotels offer a taste of grandeur, there’s an alternative that lets you experience the city from a local perspective – staying in an Airbnb. Staying in an Airbnb in Rome opens the door to a world of authenticity, enabling you to reside in neighborhoods that pulse with character, discover hidden trattorias favored by locals, and uncover the true essence of Roman life. Whether you’re seeking a cozy apartment with vintage flair or a modern loft with panoramic views, Rome has it all 🤩.

Where to Eat

Italian cuisine is an art form, and indulging in authentic Roman dishes is an absolute must😋. Head to the lively district of Trastevere, where you’ll find a a lot of restaurants serving up traditional delights. Try some Roman classics like carbonara, cacio e pepe, and supplì (rice croquettes with mozzarella). Don’t forget to savor a scoop (or two!) of gelato while strolling the picturesque streets.
